Picking a Name
When Black Rock Vision Center relocated to the Reno area they took over an existing practice of a retiring optometrist. When they picked the name Black Rock they had no idea about any of the area’s associations with the annual Burning Man festival. They initially began the branding process with another designer before seeking out Grind Creative to help brand their business as modern and professional, while still paying homage to their new home in the high desert.
We designed a logo icon reminiscent of an eye, while at the same time illustrating a scene of a moon lit night in the beautiful black rock desert. Supporting collateral and the stationary suite continued the clean geometric designs throughout.
